Amanda's Rainbow Residency

Memories of Amanda

Amanda joined our family on Feb 13th, 1987. She was a bouncy happy puppy. She loved to be petted, and kissed and was always ready for a game of toss the ball or fetch the stick. Her unconditional love made my life so much richer for all her life. I miss her so..... letting her go to the rainbow bridge was the toughest choice I have even made in my 54 years on this earth. She loved her "sister" Courtney. She survived cancer that she developed at the age of 5 years. She also survived major surgery at the age of 13 and 1/2 years to spend almost another 2 years with us. I will always love and miss my dearest dog. Amanda was an English Springer Spaniel who truly sprung into everyone's heart who knew her. Please wait for me dearest Amanda....I know our dear Lord will let us be together again someday. Some of the happier memories, the first time you knew I was sick, you lay next to me on the bed, trying to help. When I cried, you licked the tears from my face, comforting me. You were the #1 dog in your obediance class! How you jumped for joy when you heard the word "walkies" and saw the leash. Our nickname for you, the walking stomach. How many dogs eat fresh veggies, carrots, green beans, broccoli, etc etc! Yet you maintained your girlish figure! I love you my dog, play happily til we meet again. Its now been 3 months since you went to the bridge my beloved dog. We have a new puppy, Bailey is a beagle and is comforting your sister Springer, Courtney, who like us, was missing you still. Bailey loves to cuddle with us as you did and plays bite and growl with Courtney. He will never replace you, dearest dog, but he does bring a sense of comfort to all of us. I will always love you my Amanda. Its now 6 months since you left us Amanda and I still think of you often, your pictures are still up and I will always love you dearest dog......Dearest Amanda, watch for Bear, Julie's beautiful Border collie mix, he joined you on the bridge 10/10/02, he is full of energy, so play bite and growl and chase with him! I love you my dog.....Dearest Amanda, another member of our family has joined you waiting for us by the rainbow bridge. Be on the lookout for your Midnight, kitty. Remember to sleep curled around him, he always felt safe that way, and when he gets into the mood, let him wash your face, just as he did while he was here with us. Daddy, Courtney, Bailey and I all still miss you and now Mr. Midnight too, but I know you will look out for 'your' kitty! Wait patiently my dearest dog, Mama loves you so......Christmas has come and gone dearest Amanda, Bailey has turned a year old, and we had a good holiday, but I missed you so on Christmas Day, it was your birthday too, and we celebrated this year for Jesus. You have now been gone almost 10 months my dearest dog, but I miss you still, I hope you are happy playing with Bear, and Midnight my dog, Momma will love you for always.......3/3/03 Dearest Amanda, we let you go to the Bridge to wait for us just one year ago today, my heart still aches for you my dog, I miss you so very much today......4/25/03 My dearest dog, I miss you so and still think of you often. We are getting a new kitty cat soon, I miss your brother kitty Midnight, so we will so have a new kitty cat, Rompers, he is an orange tabby. I so wish you were here to love him too take care my sweet girl, Mommy loves you and will always keep you close to her heart....7/8/03 Dearest Amanda, a very sad day last month my dear Father passed away. I only hope he has found you, he adored you here on earth, he loved scratching your ears and rubbing your tummy. My heart still aches for you my dog, and now my eyes fill with tears remembering my dear Daddy as well. I pray the two of your are together, you can be with him til I join you two someday. Play happily dearest doggie I love you so......December 17th, 2003 Dearest Amanda, another Christmas will soon be here and I miss you so. I cant believe its been nearly two years since you left us. I still think of you often and hope you are playing happily in the warm meadows. Christmas just isnt the same without being able to celebrate with you, I remember how you loved the special toys and treats on Christmas Day, then how you watched me like a hawk when the turkey came out of the oven! You loooooooved turkey. Stay warm my sweet girl, I love you sooooo much. Ahhhhh Amanda, the two year mark passed since I last wrote to you. I still think of you often my sweet girl and look at your pictures. Your "sister" Courtney will be 11 this summer and is getting gray around the muzzle, but she still comforts me as only you Springer dogs can. Take care my sweet girl and give my Father lots of woo woos and kisses and show him what a true wiggle butt you are!!! Then he will rub your belly for me!!! Opps forgot the date its now 5/7/04! Gosh beloved dog, its now 10/11/05 and another year has passed. Courts is 12 and still getting grayer around her face, but a bouncy springer at times. Bailey is 3 and the ever bouncy beagle. I still look at your beautiful face every day as your photo remains on my computer. I love you my sweet dog. Dearest Amanda today is the 4 year mark 3/3/06 since you went to the bridge. I still have your picture on my computer and I love to look at it. I miss you, beloved girl. Courts is now nearly 13 years old, a little deaf, but her health is good. Bails is 4 and he is our watchdog now. Take care beloved Amanda and know I will always love you, dog of my heart. Ohhhhhhhhh Amanda, I am sooo sad today, Courts joined you at the bridge on Halloween 10/31/06. I know you must have been overjoyed to see your "sister" but I am feeling so lost without her here. Take special care of her Amanda, I know how the two of you loved each other here on earth, now you are together at the bridge, with deepest love and affection my sweet girl, I love you and still miss YOU too. 3/3/07 Dearest Amanda I can hardly believe its been 5 long years since you left. I know you and Courts are playing happily as only true "sister" springers can do. Bailey was so lonely after Courts left us to join you that we rescued your newest sister Silly Millie Moo-moo, she is a black and white springer and has your personality, she gets into EVERYTHING! I know you and Courts are watching me pick up after Millie and laughing together. Mama will always love you, dearest dog of my heart.
