Memories of BeBe
| BeBe was an exceptional budgie; beautifully feathered in bright yellow, irridescent green and black stripes on her wings. She loved to play ball, chew on wicker baskets, picture frames, and lampshades...and wake me when I'd fall asleep on the couch with a loud chirruppp! Her most exciting daily adventure was to climb in the sleeve of my shirt and settle at the small of my back and tweet softly for a long, wonderful time..Her favorite foods were scrambled eggs, rice, and noodles of any kind. Bathing was always looked forward to, but needed to take place in her "tubby" among many damp lettuce leaves. She always loved a good song, and we used to sit together for long periods and I'd serenade her with questionable renditions of Annie's Song, Baby of Mine, Feed the Birds, Marie, Stay Awake, and The Pony Song. I will forever miss my lady/girl...the void is profound...she cannot be replaced...but the heart does go on... |
