Memories of Cobi Beland
|
When Cobi our beautiful Cattle Dog came home to be our new and beloved child we knew she was special. From only 5 weeks old she showed us how spunky and smart she was. She followed us around and never took her eyes off of us. Later we found that the more information we could get on this very special breed would help us to cope with her innate curiosity and energy. Cobi ran our household; she had a special relationship with each family member and had amazing dog manners. She loved to play ball once my father taught her to return the ball! When other fellow dogs came to visit she always would let them catch the ball first, her kindness crossed many boundaries. During the time I was on Chemo-therapy she would not let me give up and would get in my face and bark to make me get up and carry on. Cobi was an Angel I truly believe this. Cobi was injured by a fall from another one of our extended family pets and damaged her spinal cord in July 2006. The doctors said we should put her down, we knew this was just another life's challenges that we would meet and conquer. Our love for her would not let it be any other way. In March of 2008 her back legs finally gave way and she could no longer walk; we now would try to use a doggie wheel chair however her arthritis made it too difficult for her to use it. We replaced it with her own special wagon that she went for walks in and joined us in our family and friends parties always being in the middle of everything and sitting up so proud and smiling all of the time. What a beautiful dog and companion she was! Cobi joined us on Valentines Day in her wagon with smiles and happiness only to leave her earthly body two days later. We will miss you my sweet child, my heart is so heavy without you, you will always be in my heart and thoughts and I cannot wait until we meet again my love, my little princess. I'll Love you always and never forget all of the precious lessons and gifts of life you gave to each of us...Love always MOMMY |
