Assign him to a place of honor, For he has been a faithful servant And has always done his best to please me. Bless the hands that send him to you, For they are doing so in love and compassion, Freeing him from pain and suffering. Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss. Help me remember the details of his life With the love he has shown me. And grant me the courage to honor him By sharing those memories with others. Let him remember me as well And let him know that I will always love him. And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise, Please allow him to accompany those Who will bring me home. IT WAS AN INCREDIBLY HARD DAY FOR MOMMIE. WE MISS YOU AS MUCH TODAY AS WE DID THE FIRST DAY YOU LEFT, AND THE TEARS FLOW STILL, EVERYDAY, WISHING YOU WERE STILL HERE TO BRIGHTEN UP OUR DAYS. MOMMIE HAS BEEN VERY SICK, BUT I KNOW YOU ARE HERE HELPING ME GET BETTER JUST LIKE YOU ALWAYS WERE. PLEASE TAKE CARE OF YOUR BROTHERS, APPLES, STASHU KITTY AND NOW EVEN EMERSON. I WOULD GIVE THE WORLD TO HAVE YOU BACK IN MY ARMS AGAIN, SWEETHEART. YOU WERE ALWAYS MOMMIE'S LITTLE BOY, ALTHOUGH DADDY LOVES AND MISSES YOU AS WELL. IT'S WINTER AND VERY COLD. YOU HATED THE COLD WEATHER AND SNOW. I REMEMBER WHEN YOU USED TO GO TO THE BACK DOOR WHEN I OPENED IT, AND LIFT YOUR LEG TO GO POTTY WITHOUT STEPPING OUTSIDE! YOU WERE QUITE THE LITTLE MAN! KEIKI SENDS HER LOVE. SHE IS WEARING SOME OF YOUR SWEATERS NOW. SHE IS THE SAME SIZE AS YOU! I KNOW YOU WOULD FEEL HONORED TO KNOW SHE LOVES YOUR SWEATERS, EXCEPT FOR THE GREEN ONE. THAT ONE WILL ALWAYS BE YOURS AND JUST YOURS. THAT WAS THE LAST ONE YOU WORE WHEN WE WENT TO THE VET. I STILL CANNOT LOOK AT IT. PERHAPS ONE DAY I WILL BE ABLE TO. You found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here." I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today. Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care. I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me." You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away." You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew... In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you. The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning And say "Good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning." And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Today is the First Anniversary of Apples joining you at the Bridge. That day we gave God the purest, sweetest, kindest heart on earth. Not a day goes by that we don't think of you with love and still shed tears for our loss. You touched so many people here, we have found.You are responsible for the rescue and adoption of 3 Chi pups. Raul just wanted a little of the love he saw when he visited you, so he adopted 3 and gave them good homes. You touched so many in numerous ways. I just want you to know how truly special you were!
