Welcome to Evan's Rainbow Residency

Evan's Rainbow Residency

Memories of Evan

Until one has loved an animal, the depth and breadth of the human & animal bond cannot be understood, or felt. Evan, even though I was only able to have you for 6 and a half short years, the unconditional love and joy you brought me cannot be measured. The emptiness in my heart will only be able to be filled when I'm with you, again. Wait for Amanda, Aaron and I at the Rainbow Bridge with Pammy and Tony, so we can all walk across the bridge together and be together for all of eternity. What a wonderful day that will be ! Until I see you again, run as fast as you can across the beautiful fields in heaven, play to your hearts content and look down on me often and send me your love, as I look up and send you mine. Rest in the tender love and warmth of our Gods arms until I am able to hold you in my arms again. Thank you for all you have given me. I am blessed to have had you in my life. I love you and miss you. Mom

All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 1 Corinthians 15:39 (KJV) - And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. Luke 3:6 (KJV)

a man and his dog were walking down this dirt road with fences on both sides, they came to a gate in the fence and looked in, it was nice grassy, woody areas, just what a 'huntin' dog and man would like, but, it had a sign saying 'no trespassing' so they walked on. They came to a beautiful gate with a person in white robes standing there. "Welcome to Heaven" he said. The old man was happy and started in with his dog following him. The gatekeeper stopped him. "Dogs aren't allowed, I'm sorry but he can't come with you."

"What kind of Heaven won't allow dogs? If he can't come in, then I will stay out with him. He's been my faithful companion all his life, I can't desert him now."

"Suit yourself, but I have to warn you, the Devil's on this road and he'll try to sweet talk you into his area, he'll promise you anything, but the dog can't go there either. If you won't leave the dog, you'll spend Eternity on this road."

So the old man and dog went on. They came to a rundown fence with a gap in it, no gate, just a hole. Another old man was inside. "S'cuse me Sir, my dog and I are getting mighty tired, mind if we come in and sit in the shade for awhile?"

"Of course, there's some cold water under that tree over there. Make yourselves comfortable"

"You're sure my dog can come in? The man down the road said dogs weren't allowed anywhere."

"Would you come in if you had to leave the dog?"

"No sir, that's why I didn't go to Heaven, he said the dog couldn't come in.
We'll be spending Eternity on this road, and a glass of cold water and some shade would be mighty fine right about now. But, I won't come in if my buddy here can't come too, and that's final."

The man smiled a big smile and said "Welcome to Heaven."

"You mean this is Heaven? Dogs ARE allowed? How come that fellow down the road said they weren't?"

"That was the Devil and he gets all the people who are willing to give up a life long companion for a comfortable place to stay. They soon find out their mistake, but then it's too late. The dogs come here, the fickle people stay there. GOD wouldn't allow dogs to be banned from Heaven. After all, HE created them to be man's companions in life, why would he separate them in death?"

A DOGGIE PRAYER

So do not grieve for me, my friend, as I am with my kind.
My collar is a rainbow's hue
My leash is a shooting star
My boundaries are the milky way, where I sparkle from afar.

There are no pens or kennels here, for I am not confined,
but free to roam God's heavens among my special kind. I nap the day on a snowy cloud and gentle breezes are rocking me; I dream the dreams of earthlings and how it used to be.

The trees are full of liver treats and tennis balls abound, and milk bones line the walking ways just waiting to be found. There even is a ring set up, the grass all lush and green, and everyone who gaits around becomes the "The Best of Breed"

For we're all winners in this
place, we have no faults
you see. And God passes
out the ribbons to each
one-- EVEN ME. I drink from
waters laced with gold, my
world a beauty to behold.
And wise old dogs do form
my pride to amble at my
very side.

At night I sleep in an
angel's arms, her wings
protecting me, and
moonbeams dance about
us as stardust falls on
thee.

So when your life on earth
is spent and you reach
heaven's gate, have no
fear of loneliness, for here,
you know I wait.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, you found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, you were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care. I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you every day.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ... in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.
