Memories of Feather L'Feet
|
At two years old she escaped her birth home in search of her forever companion. She found her way to me. I named her Feather L'Feet after the famous rogue pirate of the eastern seaboard not knowing that we would end up with a Caribbean Pirate of our own. We found Bert Kilbride, The Last Pirate of the Caribbean, in the British Virgin Islands in 1982. we moved onto his island and stayed there for 14 years. Bert, with Feather on his shoulder, became the pirate with his parrot in many photos and on magazine covers. Feather has ridden in trucks and sailed on ships and flown on the winds to the sea. During the 29 years we had together she saw me through 2 husbands and out lived my two sons. She was there with me when the "Last Pirate of the Caribbean" took his last breath in Jan. 2008. At 31 years old her life was cut short by cancer. Even though I know you're waiting for me on the Rainbow Bridge, I miss you Feather. ~March 22, 2010~
