Memories of Kiera

On December 18, 2011, our dear, sweet girl... your battle with cancer came to an end. To let you go and end your pain, was the hardest decision Dad and I had to make, but we knew it was the most loving thing to do for you. Kiera, you came into our lives almost 2 years ago. Already a senior girl you were, we knew our time with you might be short, but we wanted to do all we could for you to make life better then what you had known. Rescued and in bad shape, in time, we watched you blossom into the gorgeous golden girl you were always meant to be. Only months after we adopted you, we learned that you were suffering with liver cancer. Two surgeries later, and months of care, we thought maybe we had won the battle. But, just a short few weeks ago, we learned the monster had returned and this time, with a vengeance. We tried girl to fight it, but in the end...it was stronger then you and us, although, never once did you complain. You looked at us lovingly with those beautiful brown eyes, which always melted our hearts...especially Dad's. You were his girl and will always be. Now you join our other furbabies at the Bridge. Run free our dear Kiera with Bentley, Kelsey, Sidney, Tate and Max and wait for us till we meet again. You were loved by all, but no one could have loved you more then Dad. Watch over us sweet angel and check in from time to time...as our hearts learn how to heal without you. We love you so much and miss you terribly!
