Memories of Mali
|
Mali came into my life 22 yrs. ago in New York City. A very close girlfriend came with me to the ASPCA and when she spoke to Mali she answered her back. I gave her a Hebrew name. Transliterated Mali means princess and as Ma li it means-what is for me. She was both. She was the gentlest cat I ever knew. Not once in 20 years did she ever hiss, bite or scratch anyone. Several friends who insisted they were not cat people ended up adopting cats after knowing her a short time. Mali always liked to sleep with her head on a pillow. The picture you see shows her in the spot she shared with me every night. She will be buried with her head on that pillow in our local pet cemetery. The girlfriend who found Mali for me was murdered 10 years ago. Now they are together and taking care of each other. Some day I'll be able to cuddle with Mali while talking and laughing with my friend. |
