Welcome to Reno's Rainbow Residency

Reno's Rainbow Residency

Memories of Reno

It's been one month and I can't stop the tears. I miss you so much. Some nights I still hear you breathing next to me.

I have been going through all my CD's looking for pictures of you. I am glad to find lots of them. It reminds me of how you made me laugh and smile. You were wonderful to Jacqui when we brought her home from the hospital. You knew she was different than the others I brought home. Daddy brought you her cap before we brought her home so you could get her scent and know she was ok to have around:-) I never had to worry about you around the baby. You looked out for her and as she got older, she looked out for you.

Yesterday, Daphne, knocked over the garbage can and I thought of you. How many times were you wrongly accused of going through the garbage? Was it you or was it the cat? I wish I could take back all the times I got mad at you for making a mess.

16 1/2 years is a long time to know someone. I hope you know how much you meant to me. As much as I miss you, I just know you are in a better place now. Talk to you soon. I have a candle lit for you tonight. xoxoxox Mommy

Just wrote out our Christmas cards and of course, I had a picture of you in it. Jacqui got sad when she looked at it and said she really misses you. I miss you too. I hope you are having fun with all your old friends.

Jacqui wants a puppy. I think you would be okay if we rescue a puppy the way I rescued you. Buddhists think that souls come back to us in a new life. I hope this is true. A couple of weeks ago, Jacqui wrote a note. "I miss you much, but most of all, I need you back." I feel the same.

It's been one year since you went to the Rainbow's Bridge. Freddie left us too. Are you two playing? I am sure you guys are having fun.

Today we told stories about you. They made us laugh thinking of you.

We adopted a new dog, last Christmas. Jacqui really wanted a new puppy. I stopped by the shelter one afternoon and I found Riley. Her family either left her or couldn't take care of her anymore. She traveled all the way from Georgia and she was in the shelter for 3 months. She is partially blind, has a few missing teeth and is anywhere between 6 to 9 years old. She will never replace you but she reminds me so much of you. She is a third of your size, doesn't look anything like you but she has the same disposition as you. She doesn't bark, she sits on our lap. Sounds like you, doesn't she? You and she would have been friends.

You will always be in our hearts. You presence is all over the house. I am so glad we had that family photo shoot done two months before you left. You are right there with us in the portrait. The frame is huge and everyone sees us as soon as you enter the hall.

I miss you so much. Love, Mommy xoxoxo
