When I was in the kennel I dreamed of a home A place where I could be free to be a dog and roam I was so excited to board that plane For when I landed I knew I had a family to gain We met each other then I knew You loved me and I loved you I put your patience to the test You still kept me, Mom and Dad you're the best Together we loved to run and play Until I started to slow down one day We all knew what this meant So to the doctor we went Never feel guilty for doing what was right Together we gave it a good fight I'm so grateful you were with me from beginning to end I always knew you would be because you're my best friend We'll get through this together somehow Just know that I'm in a better place now...
