Memories of Sindar
| Sindar, you stole my heart when I first met you in June of '97 at the humane society. Sitting all alone in your cage so dignified yet weighing under a pound and fitting in the palm of my hands. While you were always petite (6 pounds) your personality was larger than life. You were my cat, or more accurately I was your human. You were always there for me. Waking me up in the morning for breakfast with your nips and meows; begging so cutely for milk when I made coffee, giving me kisses before I left for work each day; meeting me at the door when I came home each night; sitting on my lap when I read; playing with bottle caps, white mice or demanding acknowlegement when "Sindar's IN A BOX!"; curling up next to me for a nap; giving me nudges with your head and chirps to demand pets and attention; laying down own my chest each night looking up into my eyes with your bright golden ones when I went to bed each night! Every step I take reminds me of you. You left so suddenly, having difficulty breathing when I got up yesterday and then passing in the car to the vet. I am so glad and blessed for our morning together and that I was home with you the two days before the end. That I could give you comfort, love and ease while you struggled and were in pain. But thirteen years seems so insufficient a time to have shared with you and your beautiful spirit. Your sister Adara (who became a part of our family at the same time when we 'adopted' each other) and I will miss you always. I think Adara even misses your hisses. Words fail me. They are insufficient to describe our time together and the claim you had on my heart. The grief is overwhelming, yet I would not have missed a single day of the time you shared with me, my little angel with fur. I will be forever blessed for the time we shared. Your paw prints will forever be upon my heart, rest in peace, until we meet again on the rainbow bridge. Mommy Loves you Sin-Sin, my angel kitty, my Sindar! |
