Memories of Zoey Roy
|
Zoey came into our lives through Orphans of the Storm Animal Rescue in Riverwoods, IL. She had been there for 4 months and no one even considered her for adoption during that time. She was sweet and so Dan and I brought her home that fateful day and she wove her way into our hearts. We think she was about a year old at the time and was a stray. Sweet, rambunctious, playful, with a great spirit and sense of humor, Zoey assigned herself the job of watching my every move. She got very upset when we left the house and very relieved when we returned. People would often stop and ask if they could pet her because she seemed so sweet. People often told us that she was the prettiest dog they had ever seen. She was a mix of lab and pit bull and was beautiful in body and spirit. Two days after she had what we think was a stroke, we released our baby from this life on 9/29/2011. It was especially painful for us and her when she yelped from the first shot since it needed to go close to her arthritic hip. We stayed with our girl until she gently fell asleep but could not stay for her final moment on this earth. We wanted to remember her warm and breathing and sleeping like the good girl she was. She was 14-1/2 years old. Mommy and Daddy love you and miss you very much. Dan and Pat |
