Wendel
by Blaire .........................................
| My mom volunteers at a Humane Society where we live, and one day she came home and told me about this dog that came into the shelter. Bob (which stood for Bag of Bones)was found tied up to a tree in a local park and left to starve to death. When we adopted him, he was so shy, like he had been abused. We changed his name to Wendel, it suit his goofy personality. Everyone who met him fell in-love with him. Wendel's bark was one of his greatest quirks, he had such a silly hound bark. We were able to bring Wendel's weight up from August (the time we got him) until January. Wendel's weight slowly started declining, we wanted to keep hoping, thinking it was only a thyroid problem. On Tuesday, which was February 15th 2011, Wendel couldn't stand up at all, and continuously whined when he moved, that night, I took my baby in, and had to put him down. We only had Wendel a short time, but I would not have changed any second for the world. He was my baby, my little man, and my best friend. He's now running around in puppy heaven. I will miss him forever, and I will love him forever. Rest in Paradise sweetheart! |
