You came to us one evening with a big and loving heart We knew from the very first moments we'd never want to part You ate the rugs and sofa like they were a bedtime meal And made the police come in the night chasing you with lots of zeal You stole our hearts from the beginning With your kind and gentle manner Puppy kisses and wagging tales were the norm And lots and lots of doggie banter Your eyes looked into our souls With a deep and comforting gift Unconditional love and support You taught us how to live Holding you in those final moments And if there is a doggie heaven |
