"Calm Before The Storm"

The night we brought you home,
Where your story starts,
You brightened our days,
And captured our hearts.

You might have been silly,
You might have played rough,
But the love you'd given us,
Was more than enough.

You were a tough little girl,
And always gave a fight,
Especially when,
You knew when it was right.

But when it got to be to much,
You had to let us know,
No matter how much it hurt us,
We had to let you go.

You reassured us,
That this had to be,
Even though it hurts right now,
Just remember that you are free.

The circle turns, this chapter closed
We feel your presence, missing.
But this isn't the end for you, my friend,
Only another beginning.
