Moakie's story We'll miss our little Moakie We loved her from the start The minute that we saw her She stole away our hearts Her tiny little face so perfect and so sweet She was so perfect and beautiful from her head down to her feet We saw her at the pet shop and she made both of our hearts melt And from the way she looked at us she knew just how we felt Don't know why it took so long to take her to our home But once our little girl arrived she knew she'd never be alone Each night she was carried to our bed on a pillow like a princess We sang to her and told her how very special she was to us A lot of people said she looked like a tiny cat But she was a tiny little Chihuahua and there was no changing that When GaGa finally met her she loved her at first sight And we made sure when she left our home she didn't steal Moakie that night Then we moved to GaGa's house with Brutus and that Scruff But when they tried to play with her they were too big and too rough So Mr. Rocky Purcell came to join the clan And Moakie was so happy to meet that little man They ran and romped together all through GaGa's place And formed a lasting friendship that no one could ever take Then we all moved to a condo with 3 full flights of stairs But they still ran up and down them and were never really scared Then things changed again when Miss Shelby joined the group And Shelby was the queen in the little Purcell troup Moakie liked her at first when she just lay on the bed And Rocky liked to sleep with her next to her tiny head But when she started crawling and chased them round and round Moakie usually hid away and wasn't easily found But Rocky loved his Shelby and laid by her on the bed We even have a picture of them butts in the air and touching heads Then we moved again to a place called Antioch Illinois And GaGa was so sad because she couldn't see her little girls and boy Then things changed again when Miss Kaley made her debut And they quickly adapted to having another member in their crew Moakie continued growling and Rocky kept looking to play And they both soon realized another Purcell was here to stay They moved again in Antioch and this time it was fun No golf balls whizzing round them, a place where they could run At least Moakie could be running because she stayed close to home Rocky was put in a cage because that boy liked to run and roam But life was sweet for Moakie she was cherished and she was loved She was a little treasure that was sent from God above Now the story doesn't end here because now Max made his entrance The third in the puppy trifecta and he also needed the fence (he's a runner) So now we had them all a blonde a brunette and a redhead And they slept with us each night under the covers in our king-sized bed And whenever we had to leave them that old GaGa was around She'd take them back to live in her house in Aurora town Our Moakie loved to travel; she'd sit on our laps in the car And when we took her on walks she wandered near and far You could hear us saying Moakie get back here with the group And Moakie would come running over and rejoin our little troup Everyone loved Moakie and would pet her when allowed But mostly when the kids came chasing our little Moakie growled You see when you are that tiny you tend to be a little scared Of being stepped on or dropped or falling down or up the stairs And I hesitate to mention she had a problem with her breath from the start Not brushing or cleaning or flossing could keep it from smelling like a fart So we let her show us her puppy love by licking us on our face And then we would hold our breath as she licked us all over the place But it didn't seem to matter because we loved her stinky or sweet Just having her around was a really special treat But God decided to take her to be with Captain America, Farty, Mitchell, Brutus, Ashley, Gopher and Scruff And not having her here to touch and love has been really tough But we got to say goodbye and give her our last kisses and love And now we know she's in heaven with our God above And we will always remember and love her for as long as we all live Until we meet our sweet baby again in heaven at the Rainbow Bridge.
