That gifts that Gus has given me are countless. But, tonight when going to bed to finally close out my day, I felt his spirit present with me. I thought of how he would wander into our bedroom. The jingle of his collar, the shuffle of his feet and then the kiss of his nose as he reached into my side of the bed; only to immediately turn his bum to me as if to say" wake up! I need my favorite scratch of my butt" and in this thought and memory came the realness of his teachings to me.... He told me, We ( animals) are not the unconditional love you think we are. We are actually a place to "bounce" the true essence of your own unconditional love. It is you that posses ALL the unconditional love that you think is our possetion. It really is your own reflection, a place to put the amazing capabilities of your own love. We're just here to give it right back, it was yours in its purity to begin with. It is this reflection that I miss the most, the unconditional love reminder of you. Thanks Gus for the truth that you are still here and always will be. I love you my boy xoxo |
