Remember when I was young, I used to prance and jump and run; I'd chase sea foam across the beach; and Ignore my owner as she tried to teach ... Teach me how to sit, come, stay Of course I'd always run away. But gradually I became less able; Walking was hard and I became unstable. Finally the day arrived; my owner with tears in her eyes Saw I could no longer walk, chase or play; Knew it was time for me to go away. With love, I was put to sleep My pain all gone, sweet memories she'll keep And remember when I was young. |
