I saw you fall in Love again

Hi Mom!! I saw you fall in love again, you said you never,ever would. But I watched the little pup tossed from the car, I watched as she traveled down the road, thru the woods, and I guided her to the little cabin tucked in the trees. She was scared and hungry. I told her to sit and be patient. I watched as you sighed "another stray", picked her up and took her in. You called all the neighbors--no one had lost a pup, you thought about calling the shelter, but there's something about her eyes--they look familiar--you've seen them before, the same burning gaze, and so you decide she can stay the night. The next day she's being bathed, combed and "Well maybe we'll wait to see if there's an ad in the paper under lost pets". My work is almost done now Mom, no one has an ad and no one answers your ad, and you give her a name "Well, you can't just call her DOG". Your still thinking of her as "temporary", but she has a name now, then she does the unthinkable and snuggles next to you on the bed!! That was it!! I watched you fall in love again and I was so happy!! Now I look down from the Bridge and see you laughing and loving and I'm so glad I saw you fall in love again!!! |
