Halley Kitty, baby girl

by Leslie .........................................

HALLEY

You were tiny from day one. You never got larger than 6 pounds.
Since you were a rescue kitten I'm not really sure when you were born. I know it was around the beginning of April 2008, so I chose April 1 because I thought April Fools Day would be a fun birthday for you and Harley.
I remember seeing you in the repo lot at the bank. You stood out because of the white tip on your tail. I said right then that I wanted you, but you went home with someone else and they named you Diva. Then Harley came along and he was so tiny that we took him home with us. Aunt Sibi decided she wanted a kitten, so I asked for you to go to her and we re-named you Halley (for Halley's Comet & boy were you fast). She kept you about 2 weeks and then decided she didn't want you. When you first came home to us, you and your brother Harley didn't get along. You hissed and swatted at each other, that lasted for about an hour, then you two were the best of friends. You would chase each other around the house. You taught Harley to jump. Everyone said that Harley was mean to you, but what they didn't realize was that you were the instigator. Even though you were a cat I truly believe you thought you were a dog, chasing your tail, growling at noises, chewing on everything, and begging for food. You were tough as nails; you fought to the very end.

I will miss...
The way you gave kitty kisses by rubbing your head on my face.
The way you slept on my chest at night, not giving me any room on the
bed.
The way you woke me up in the morning by touching your paw to my nose.
The way you chased Harley, then hid under the chair.
The way you used to jump on the kitchen counter and stick your paw in
the sink, even though we would continually spray you with water.
The way you chased your tail.
The way you sharpened your paws on the scratchy board and then chew
it to pieces.
The way you used to chew a new box to shreds.
The way you sat on my lap when I was watching TV.
The tiny little mew you had. (which you rarely meowed)
The way you switched bowls with Harley when you ate.
The way you used to pop Harley on the head with your paw when you were on top of the scratchy tower and Harley was inside. You were
really fast.
The way you used to get so excited when we gave you tuna. You would barely chew it, you would swallow it whole trying to get more. Then
steal Harley's share.
The way you sat in my lap when I took you somewhere in the car.
The way you would carry the fuzzy toy in your mouth around the house.
The white tip on your tail, like you dipped it in paint, and the
white bikini on your belly and white spot on your neck.
The way you would refuse to put on your collar after it came off.
The way you & Harley would stand by the bedroom door when you heard
us drive up.
The way you laid in your blue bed with your head hanging over the
side.
The way your little paws felt as you walked on my legs when
I waslaying down.
The way you stuck your little paws under the door when I was in the
bathroom.
The way you drank water when I turned on the shower before I got in.
The way you always wanted to let yourself into the bedroom at night,
instead of one of us carrying you in.

I love you Halley Kitty, baby girl.
