My proud, brave, beautiful, great-hearted collie ... my sonsy, bonny lass of the Highlands, where the lochs are dark, deep, and still, and where the wild purple heather perfumes the sapphire skies.... I waited 50 years for you, and you were worth every second of it. You're my collie. You're MY collie. I loved to just gaze at you in awe for moments on end. You spread sovereign grace and loveliness to every corner of my being. You yearned for someone to want your love, and you found me. I wanted your love. I wanted you. You never lost faith in Life when you had every reason to do so. You were my paragon of "how to be." I wish I had half the soul shining in you. I promised this would be your last earthly home, and I kept that promise ... right to the end. My April sunburst, my "splendour unmarred by death", I love you. I miss you.
