You never forget...

My dog Africa died about 2 years ago. I had him for 16 years. Today I was eating a sandwhich and, I don't know how, but the thought came to me to leave a piece for Africa. As if he were alive. I broke down in tears. The thought was so automatic. My cat China died a very long time ago. She left me Andy. Her one and only "son". He's getting older now. He still looks great, but I can't help but think about the day he goes too. This has brought up alot of memories of China, and the pain of losing a beloved pet. Time passes and most of the time all is fine, but every once in a while something triggers a thought. The hurt comes up as if it were yesterday. I will never forget.... |
