Sit and Stay in My Heart

My home is theirs; they need not leave. Reminders awaken my soul, quietly. The traces of hope are unleashed, unafraid. If briefly it lasted, to them it was forever. The trees, they grow taller; the birds speak to me. So bury the bones, and go fetch that ball. A rescue is selfless, and one-sided they say. My tears of loss will fall once again, My home is theirs; they need not leave. |
