Thanks Wal-Mart

by Suzanne Schultz.........................................

Kayla was my 15 year old long hair chia mix who died on August 5, 2009. She was my baby. We had been through alot together. My illness and then hers. Not to mention looseing everything in Katrina. Kayla had gone deaf and had heart and lung failure. Then the seizures started.
Kayla was a very funny looking dog. She was little and her hair went in all directions. There were times she looked like a walking fuzz ball. Then she would look like a hot dog with legs. At the flea market where we worked people always wanted me to let her have puppies because they wanted one that looked just like her. At the vets people would laugh at her because she looked so funny. She loved life. She was the most happy in her stroller. It made her feel like a queen. She was never more sad than when I put a sweater on her. She hated it. In fact when I put one on her and put her on the floor that is where she stayed. She would stand there for hours, or until I took it off.
When I had to put her to sleep because her teeth had absessed and gone into her stomach, was one of the worse days of my life. I cried non stop for days. As christam got closer I just felt lost without her. I tried to keep myself busy buying gifts. But she was never far from my thoughts. Then one day as I sat at my kitchen table talking to my husband Carl,I glanced over at the wal-mart sales paper he was looking at and froze. There on the last page, at the very bottom was a section of pet things. Sitting there in a Santa Clause outfit with the happiest look on her face was my Kayla. I screamed " it's Kayla". I called everyone I knew and told them to look at the wal-mart paper. Kayla was in it. Kayla was so funny looking and here was another little dog that looked just like her. I felt like Kayla was trying to tell me " I'm ok Mom. Be happy and have a great Christmas."
So if anyone out there that works for Wal-Mart knows the add I am talking about God Bless You. It gave me peace. I cut it out and it is in a frame with a rainbow over it. The little dog in it is black and brown with simi long hair. She has brown over her eyes like eyeshadow. Her ears flip over at the tips. Her body is mainly black with brown on her feet and face some. Again THANK YOU WAL-MART. AND GOD BLESS YOU
