Farewell ... There will be other dogs in our lives, But not like you. We will love them all ... But not as we loved you. For you there will always be a hole in our hearts; A vacant place by the hearth... An empty water bowl. Echoes of your welcoming bark thunder through the house And we hear the ghostly footsteps of a dog... But we cannot find you. We cannot find you, Shakey. You live on now only in our hearts, And there you will stay. Forever. In our memory we hold you close... Until we meet again. We love and miss you so. |
