She has given me love and affection everyday of her life. I can only hope that I provided some measure of the things she needed in hers.

Part of loving a pet is the pain of letting them go before they suffer, yet after doing what is possible to save them. She can rely on me to love her that much. The only comfort I have in this is knowing that she will pass to a warm, safe place.

So open you gates Rainbow Bridge. Take care of another beloved companion. See that she eats well, her water is cool and fresh. Surround her with her favorite toys and other loving companions who have passed. She enjoys an ice cube now and again, and a bit of cheese. If possible, her favorite cookie is a ritz cracker. Keep her safe and comfortable until I can come for her. And tell her everyday how much I love her and how much she means to me. Tell her to watch for me, but enjoy her time in your care.

There will not be one day that she will not hear my voice to her. Not one day that she will not be with me in spirit.

I will come for you my little love...rest your tired body.
